Who is eligible for benefits?

You are eligible if you work at least 20 hours per week for 4 consecutive weeks. Your child(ren) (including any legal stepchild, adopted child, or foster child) up to age 26 are also eligible for coverage. 

In addition, your legal spouse/domestic partner is eligible. However, if your spouse/domestic partner is employed, and is eligible for minimum value medical coverage through their own employer, you may add him/her as a covered dependent on the Hertz Kaiser medical plans, and you'll be assessed a surcharge of $45 weekly.

Can I cover my spouse or domestic partner?

Your legal spouse/domestic partner is eligible for coverage. Can I cover my domestic partner’s children?

Yes, your domestic partner's child(ren) up to age 26 is (are) eligible for coverage provided that your domestic partner is enrolled in your Hertz benefits.

My spouse is eligible for Medicare. Can I cover him/her?

Go to medicare.gov for more information. Or you can contact a Hertz Benefits Specialist at 1-800-654-3373 and press "3." They're available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CT), Monday through Friday.

My spouse and I are both employed by Hertz. Can we both enroll in coverage?

Both you and your spouse may enroll in Hertz benefits. You’ll need to decide whether you’ll both elect individual coverage or have one spouse cover the other, but in no case can an individual have double coverage.

The surcharge for spouses/domestic partners with minimum value medical coverage with their employer does not apply to company couples.

My spouse and I are both employed by Hertz and we have a child(ren). How does coverage for our child(ren) work?

Only one of you may cover your child(ren) under Hertz coverage. In no case can a child(ren) be covered by both parents.
