What is the Life Insurance coverage?

Hertz provides Company-paid Basic Life Insurance at one times your base annual pay up to $1.5 million without proof of good health. You also have the opportunity to purchase supplemental life insurance up to a maximum of six times your annual base salary, not to exceed $3 million for both Basic and Supplemental coverage.

Can I purchase additional Life Insurance?

Depending on your eligibility group, you may have the option to purchase Supplemental Life Insurance up to a maximum of six times your annual base salary, not to exceed $3 million for both Basic and Supplemental coverage. More information will be made available when you enroll.

Will I need to provide an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for Supplemental Life Insurance?

If you’re a new hire and enroll in Supplemental Life Insurance for the first time, you can elect coverage up to the lesser of five times your annual base pay or $300,000 without providing an EOI.

If you’re a current employee and are enrolling for the first time or if you choose to increase your Supplemental Life Insurance coverage by more than 1x your annual base salary, EOI will be required.

What is the Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance coverage?

AD&D Insurance provides you and your family a benefit in the event of accidental death or serious injury. You may purchase coverage for yourself and for your eligible spouse/domestic partner.

What Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage is available for non-exempt (hourly) employees?

Short-Term Disability is paycheck insurance that protects a portion of your income in the event of a short-term illness, pregnancy, or a non-occupational injury. As a non-exempt employee, you automatically receive a company-paid core STD benefit of 50% of your weekly base pay up a $150 weekly maximum, and those benefits are integrated with temporary disability insurance benefits through the state of Hawaii. You can also purchase supplemental coverage of 60% of your weekly base pay, up to a $1,000 weekly maximum to supplement Hawaii’s state disability program.

What Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage is available for exempt (salaried) employees?

Short-Term Disability is paycheck insurance that protects a portion of your income in the event of a short-term illness, pregnancy, or a non-occupational injury. Hawaii employees are eligible for statutory benefits through the state of Hawaii. Contact The Hartford for more information.

Short-Term Disability is paycheck insurance that protects a portion of your income in the event of a short-term illness, pregnancy, or a non-occupational injury. As an exempt employee, you are eligible to receive a salary continuation benefit for approved disability leaves consisting of full base pay for a specified period of time, and then 50% base pay for a specified period of time, depending upon your length of service with the company, and those benefits are integrated with temporary disability insurance benefits through the state of Hawaii.

What Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage is available?

Long-Term Disability replaces a percentage of basic monthly income in the event an extended illness or injury prevents you from working. LTD pays a benefit if you continue to be disabled and unable to work after exhausting your Short-Term Disability benefits.
